Battery disposal
Information on the disposal of old batteries
The following notice is intended for those who use batteries or products with built-in batteries and no longer resell them in the form in which they were delivered (end users):
1. Free return of used batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. You are legally obliged to return used batteries to ensure proper disposal. You can dispose of them at a municipal collection point or at a local retailer. As a battery distributor, we are also obligated to take back used batteries. However, our obligation to take back is limited to used batteries of the type that we carry or have carried as new batteries in our product range. You can therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or hand them in free of charge at our shipping warehouse at the address listed in the imprint.
2. Meaning of the battery symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass, more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004 percent lead by mass, the chemical name of the pollutant used is located below the wheeled bin symbol – where "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.

Description
Weimarlux CdS Light Meter with Case
Condition and Limitations
Condition: good used condition.
The case shows slight signs of wear consistent with age, but remains visually and functionally in very good condition.
The case shows only slight signs of wear, such as small scratches or dull patches.
CdS Measurement with Two Brightness Ranges
The Weimarlux cds uses a photoresistor and a standard 30° incident light measurement angle. The swiveling diffuser flap allows switching to light measurement. For incident light measurement, the light is measured from the camera's position to the subject. For light measurement, the device uses the provided diffuser to measure the illumination on the subject. The position of the flap must match the selected method.
Measure and Save with One Button
The direction of the measurement button selects the measurement range: towards the cord side for stronger, towards the front side for weaker illumination. When released, the needle remains locked. The instructions recommend using the less sensitive range first when the brightness is unknown. This allows you to evaluate the locked measurement value at your leisure.
Transfer the Exposure Value to the Calculation Scale
After setting the film speed, transfer the read exposure value to the reference index using the knurled disc. This gives the corresponding aperture and shutter speeds. The scales also contain frame rates for film cameras. Such cine values assume the appropriate aperture angle of the respective film camera; they are not a general video sensitivity.
Historical Battery Requirement
The original instructions specify the PX13/625 measuring cell used at the time and describe a separate battery check. A modern cell with similar external dimensions is therefore not automatically proven to be a calibration-correct replacement. The exact power supply must be coordinated with this device version.
