What we check

  • Display: working display
  • Menu and buttons: work reliably, settings can be adjusted
  • Shutter mechanism: fires reliably and resets cleanly
  • Memory card: contacts are detected, the saving process works
  • Lens: for scratches, fogging, and fungus

What we don’t check

  • Battery life
  • Wi-Fi, GPS, and other additional functions

Condition grades found here

Good, Acceptable, Partially Defective, and Defective. Because the lens is permanently attached, we check it here as well – unlike with cameras that have interchangeable lenses.
