What we check

  • Shutter mechanism: fires reliably and resets cleanly
  • Film transport: runs smoothly, does not jam, and winds reliably
  • Shutter: all speeds fire, with consistent operation
  • Viewfinder image on the focusing screen: visible, without major dirt or clouding
  • Light meter, if present: responds plausibly
  • Front lens: checked for scratches, haze, and fungus

What we do not check

  • The accuracy of shutter speeds and the light meter
  • Film counter and self-timer
